Wroxton Abbey Great Hall The Great Hall was the center of Sir William Pope's original Wroxton home. It has a Minstrels' Gallery high above its south end. Musicians in the gallery would have played lutes and viols to the diners in the Great Hall below. The raised platform at the north end may have been for the high table. Colonel North, who restored the house and built the south wing in the 1850's, added the 17th century paneling which surrounds the Great Hall. The ceiling was primarily the work of Sanderson Miller. The stained glass windows feature the arms of the Norths and other related families. Some of the glass is dated as early as 1589. The "Great Hall" scene connects to scene 5: "The Entrance Hallway," scene E: "Preview of the Library and other Rooms," and scene F: "The Warwickshire Hunt Painting."
