Wroxton '01, '02, '03 |
I decided to join a two week study abroad trip to Wroxton in the Summer of 2001 with the school of Criminal Justice (FDU Teaneck). Reading past some of the other entries I must admit that my words and memories are not unique - 'magical', 'amazing', 'Percy and the North Arms', and 'the plays at avon'. It was the greatest experience. I returned for three consecutive years. If anyone reading this wants to plan a trip to england please reach out to me! landon.turner@alliedbarton.com

Class of Fall 1969 |
The virtual tour is wonderful - as was my Wroxton experience! I haven't been back to the Abbey since '73 and it's amazing to see all the changes since I called the Abbey home.
If anyone from Fall '69 is reading this I hope you are well, happy, prosperous, and surrounded by laughter and love.... things we had in abundance in Wroxton all those years ago!

Memories to last a lifetime |
I attended Wroxton in the Spring of 1978 and loved every minute. It was a great way for us all to spread our wings and explore the world. I was surprised to see that the class size shrunk in the early 00's, but happy to see enrollment seems to be growing again.
I have many fond memories of my time in the Abbey, and I hope to return one day. The virtual tour was great -- many memories came flooding back. Long live Wroxton College and all who have lived there!

Wroxton: '69, '72, '73 & '74 |
What can I say?! I've been to Wroxton 4 times, and I'd go back in an instant. As an undergrad in '69, I had 16 glorious weeks which, I thought, changed my life. Then, as a grad student in the summers of '72-'74, I met my wife -- also a grad student. We just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary! Talk about life changing!!! It's a magical place and one which I cannot recommend highly enough. Don't hesitate! Just go!

Ancestry |
My Great Grandfather (George Cadd) was lodge keeper at Wroxton Abbey and my Grandma (the local midwife) and Grandad (carpenter) (Cadd) were residents in Wroxton all their lives. Mum was born in Omega Cottage and later family lived in Thisbe Cottage. I have vivid recollections of holidays in Wroxton as a child before the Abbey became the University and happy days spent with my Grandparents walking 'The Downs' beyond the Dovecote, around the lakes etc. Am visiting in August after 35 yrs in Australia.

Hi
My Great-Grandfather (surname Carpenter) worked in service at Wroxton Abbey before moving to Lincolns Inn Fields in London.
According to my dad, the churchyard is full of his ancestors, both Carpenters and Charpentiers. If anyone has records of my family working at the Abbey I would appreciate the feedback.

Greetings |
Dear all,
Hello! Greetings from Francesca Dellelci. I went to Wroxton in the Spring of '04 and it is one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. Even though I took so many pictures and kept a journal, I can never capture how much it means to me- it's very close to my heart. I hope that all is well in the abbey. I can't wait to visit again one day! I was thinking of you and wanted to say that I hope you and your families have a Happy Holiday season.
Warmest wishes,
Francesca

Whetted my appetite for living abroad... |
I spend the fall of 1980 at Wroxton, my first trip out of the US--or on a plane, for that matter--and it was by-far the grandest adventure I had by that point in my life. I remember trying to work the phones (dial first, then insert the coin), actually relying on Woolworths, and those great trips to Stratford for the plays. Thanks to that semester, I've developed a taste for living abroad. I now live in The Netherlands - perhaps it's high-time I take a trip back for a visit...

Great time |
I was in the class in Spring of 04' and had an amazing time traveling around. I miss the Abbey and the countless nights chatting with Percey down at the North Arms about politics and life in general haha. I heard the bar is for sale maybe I'll buy it and open up shop.

memories |
I visited the abbey in 1963 as a tourist with my family. We had lunch and after were invited to have coffee in the hall with Lady Pearson(?). I think [ it was 42 years ago]. She was very concered about the fate of the abbey as she had just sold it to an American college. Over the years I often remembered that magical visit and what became of the place, so was delighted to find it on the web. I will be in Britain in October and if possible will make a point of driving past for nostalgia sake.

Magical time! |
I attended Wroxton in the fall of 1979 on the urging of my boyfriend (now husband) Peter Cary. It was one of the best times of my life--a magical experience in many ways. I would love for one of our four children to attend some day. It was wonderful!

Hi there |
I loved my time at Wroxton so many many years ago (76-78) and have a plate and picture of the Abbey in my home. My class dedicated a tree and I think we put our names on bricks on the roof. John Seagrave was the Director then, and lawn tennis and volleyball were
popular sports on the back lawn. The duck pond, the pub, the trips to Stratford, the cookouts by the lake, the restoration of the dovecot, and most of all the wonderful conversations I'll treasure always. Go on forever.
